Prayer for the passing
Sep. 3rd, 2007 12:21 pmMay your kindred, in love and blood, on both sides of the gates, be with you at this time.
May his journey be short and his step light.
May you hear him as he calls out to you at the gate, and know that he is with his kin, in love and friendship, blood and inspiration. There will be many to welcome him.
May you share the halls with him in good time, neither too soon nor too late. May your children outlive you, and their children outlive them, and may you have time to sit with them and tell them the stories of your man and your love.
Cattle die, kindred die, all of us die, but one thing remains in this world - the reputation of a good person.
