We has them. :o)

Garry spotted them out and about earlier, they are without yolk sac now which means they're feeding as adults, we've seen 3 so far and Daddy is still guarding and fanning the spawning site so there should be some more to come *Yay* Bristlenose Plecostomus are exceptionally cute baby fishies!!

ION Crabby shed his first exoskeleton since he moved in, I saw him in the cave and did a double-take when I saw him also behind a bit of wood on the other side of the tank :-O the version in the cave was the empty one. I fished his shell out while I was water changing and have taken pics to record his growth. It's both extremely cool and extremely creepy at the same time!!

It's nice to have some good fishy news, especially since two of our smallest cichlids didn't make it through all the stress of the last week or so, Princess fish and Spotty fish both passed away sometime between last night when G fixed the filter leak and tonight when he got home :o(

I'm overly excited about the baby fishies, but now I'm supposed to go to bed *pout*

Starting with a cute picture:

Today is a good day. It started at unholy o'clock but I got loads of work done in the first hour, I'va managed to cross a ton of stuff off my "To Do" list and generally have a very positive head on. Hoping to get some important travel packs finished today and handed out, then they're off my mind and off my list :o)

Last night one of the cannister filters (the one for the cichlid tank) was leaking all over the floor and behind the lovely cabinet that G built. Instead of spending a nice relaxing evening eating dinner and watching a movie, Garry spent the evening trying to make the filter cannister not leak all over the floor, he got very wet, dripped on lots and was very late in bed :o( He's starting to feel the late nights, and there have been some really tough days at work as well, so I think it's gentle, restful night for both of us tonight.

Luckily, the fish don't usually require this much in the way of crisis management, but lately we've had the seam split on the old cichlid tank, two heaters burn out (one with tragic consequences) and now the filter business as well. It seems that when things go wrong they do it all at once. I won't state my hopes for fear of bring the attention of the fates onto us, but I bet you can guess what I'm hoping...

Today I have booked our campsites for the trip darn sarf in July, I'm really looking forward to it and have been collecting a couple of extra bits of kit to make things a bit more comfy. I'm hoping we'll be able to camp more over the summer this year, since last year was rather wet!!

Well, that's about my lot, it's nearly 2pm so I'll be getting cut off by Websense in a few minutes. Hope everyone is ok.

We started out with 6 Endlers, 4 female and 2 male. One of the fish had 5 babies so then we had 11.

Last Thursday Garry spotted a brand new baby fish, only 1 hanging out near the plant, and we thought it was sad that we had an 'only child' until Friday night after Garrys farewell drinks in town when we came home and spotted first 1, then 2 new babies in addition to the first. When we got home from mums last evening there were a total of 4 and this morning we've woken up to a total of 9 new babies!!!

So much for the only child theory, I guess Endlers take their time, birthing new fry over a period of days rather than all at once.
