The Huckleberries

For my own use and that of anyone who likes, Jig Reels and Bluegrass:

I am celebrating because during one of my sort outs in my room I found my "Huckleberries" tape from the first time I saw them in 1999, they're a classic blugrass band and I love their stuff, I have the tape of 'Jigweed' but I hadn't been able to find a CD of it since then.

When Beth and I were in Oxford doing the girly-shop thing we saw them playing in the middle of town and I dashed over straight away to buy a CD.....they had sold out. :( Luckily they have a website set-up where I can buy their stuff: Gravel Walk is one of my favourites from the album I have. Very Ace.

Heh--I've never heard an English person talk about liking Bluegrass, but of course it makes sense since it's descended straight from English and Irish folk music!

Aye it does. The Huckleberries were my first intro to the genre (oo, lookie, big words) and have been my fav ever since. :)
