Got my first set of results yesterday and am finally able to see it for what it is... i.e. Good News!!
The tap results came in first with a conclusion of "meningicoccal strain" virus. It's less virulent and not contagious (which is nice) but still not fun. They think it's what is causing the swelling so I had my first massive anti-viral, anti-biotic dose yesterday on my lunchbreak. I have another one today, then a course of tablets for (I think) 2 weeks, then another jab, then wait a week for the next tap to see how the supression is going.
Apparently my immune system could be a bit screwed up and I'll probably catch everything I come in contact with, but hey, it's only for a while.
If anyone wants to see, there's a picture of my 'new' hole under the cut.. not squick making at all....
( New Hole )
I showed it to Tracey today, who wasn't impressed at all, she was expecting more gore I think... it did lead to an amusing day of people coming up to ask to see 'my hole' which was cause for much 'fnarr'-ing and suggestive comments.
