And breathe!!!

The weekends are great at the moment, have just had another one which was brilliant. Saturday I drove to Garrys, unpacked the shopping and the day was beautiful so we drove to the open air market and had a wander. Garry picked up a rug and some cushions for the flat, we bought fancy flavoured coffee, TONS of sweets and did a fair amount of browsing through stalls. We had a burger for lunch which was tasty, and then went back home for coffee.

The rest of Saturday we watched almost all of the last season of "Black Books" (we've saved 2 episodes for another day) I cooked chicken with orange and slices of cheese baked in the middle, mashed potatoes and mange tout which was quite tasty, we drank beer and then settled down, cuddled up on the sofa and watched "Final Destination 2" which was similarly scary to the first one, made me jump a bit and was good.

Sunday we were supposed to be having a lie-in...so I got up at 8:30 :o) I read my book for a bit but then I got cold so I went back to bed to carry on reading and promptly fell asleep again. We got up finally just after noon, went out for an averagely successful shopping trip, bought another set of shelves so Garry can sort out and tidy up all the stuff cluttering the end of his bedroom, we also bought a new plant to go between the fish tanks ('frondy', not to be confused with 'ferny') and various sundry 'home' items, a potato peeler and masher, scissors, a washing up bowl for me (squee), kilner jars for the coffee a throw for the sofa, that kind of thing.

I think Garry was a bit worried by the fact that he was actually enjoying 'home' type shopping, something he normally shies away from. Ooh, he also bought a solid granite chopping board which is really nice! When we got home, I got my blue throw out of the car and we draped it over the futon, put the brown throw and the cushions on the sofa and everything matches quite nicely and looks 'coordinated' and deliberate.

The afternoon Garry spent moving fish, cleaning tanks and re-filling them, the big tank is now done, although somehow the shrimp is missing, we can't find him anywhere, in either tank!? I re-potted plants, a spider plant with the most amazingly cramped root system I've ever seen! Frondy needed re-potting sooner rather than later as well so I did him at the same time.

Dinner was roast pork with apple sauce, stuffing, asparagus tips and baby sweetcorn, and carrot and swede mash with ginger (yum) it was getting pretty late by the time we ate, and we watched "Cold Comfort Farm" Garrys first time of watching, although an old favourite of mine, ate "wicked chocolate pie" (which was really rich and very tasty) then flopped out on the bed, unwilling to move....and stayed there until morning.

This morning, after the quickest shave known to man Garry went off to work (boo) and I came home, since then it's been all go.
- Daktari appointment at 10:30am, he's signed me off for 4 more weeks.
- Last minute appt with consultant tmrw for follow-up on new meds at JRH 3:20pm.
- Taking parents to airport to begin my 10 days of peace on Wednesday.
- Supper with Emma Wednesday late afternoon
- Interview arranged for a good job on Thursday at 3:30pm (wish me luck.)
- Bowling with the team from "The Wide" Thursday evening.
- Simon got one of only 8 places at Staff College (out of 34 applicants) which is his ticket to a Masters Degree, so much excitement.
- I've made enchiladas for dinner tonight.

I went into "The Wide" today after the daktari appointment to drop off my new sick note and have a chat with an FC, I was parked in the branch customers parking space for 45 minutes (30 of which were spent in the branch) and the dozy twats in security clamped me! My car reg is on the employee database and they assumed that because I am an employee, I must have been parked there for work, it didn't occur to them that I might have been there as a customer (dumb-asses.)

I think that's everything, I'm a bit hibernatory, feeling quiet and a bit out of sorts, but *shrug* nothing much I can do about that. I nearly double booked myself with Emma on Weds 'cos I forgot about the airport trip, but it looks like I've straightened that out now.
