Today is the pinnacle of my caught-up-ness. I have got washing all done, dry and put away, room tidy (although not emptied out yet) car maintained, emails written, thank you letters and cards written and all blogs/journals/cartoons/whatevers up to date.
I'm bored now! :o(
I think perhaps a trip to my sis is in order, I haven't been and stayed for quite a while and now that I have some time I'd really like to spend some of it there, we all enjoy being with each other, I love being with the boys and I like feeling useful, never short of something to do round there.
Plus I have to catch them up with the goings on in my life, job-hunt, friends, guys, health etc and if the testing schedule is due to be carried out at JRH it makes sense to stay in Carterton which is closer to Oxford than I am here.
I'm doing my usual drowning in new relationship energy, but working really hard to keep it under control, I think I'm partially succeeding, but I also know that if I get bored it will get out of hand when I'm not distracted. Another reason that staying with Beth will be a good thing, distraction from my head due to two little boys and distraction from my love life so I don't get spazzy.
I swear, knowing your failings is half the battle :o)
We've had Alex here for the past 2 days, and last night was my first night at home since he's been here. I knew I was going to get woken early this morning so I made sure I was in bed by a halfway reasonable hour. At about 1am Alex had a nightmare about animals and cages and I brought him into my bed, to tell him stories and sing to him until he was able to close his eyes again. Once he was deeply asleep I took him back to his bed, and then went to sleep myself, finally nodded off about 3am.
I was woken by Alex at 6:30am bringing me a cup of tea (Grandpa had helped him make it.) Parents took him to Millets Farm this morning to wear him out while I got some jobs done, then after lunch they took him home, so I took advantage of the quiet house to have a shower, then went for a walk. It was freezing cold so when I got home I changed into scruffs, made a hot cup of tea and sat down in my shawl to warm up and read my book.
I made a lovely Carbonara for dinner with spaghetti and garlic bread (yum) and got the washing up done, now I'm being scrabbled to within an inch of my life, and enjoying a cup of coffee.
