Interview

I finally managed to get to sleep last night after about 3am, I was a bit knackered when I woke up this morning so I'm going to try for an early night tonight, especially since I will be woken up by a little man in the morning for a cuddle at about 6am (if I'm lucky.)

Trip there was alright, got a bit hung up at the Downshire Arms roundabout in Bracknell because they closed one lane of the roundabout to do 'works' but otherwise it was easy-peasy. Interview was alright, the usual stupid questions, but they are interviewing the best 20 applicants so I'm not sure where that puts my chances. Julie was really nice, chatty and smiley which made me feel more comfortable, the interview was quite casual and laid back, although the skills testing was a bit stressful. I was tested on Word, Excel & Powerpoint, then I had an audio and copywriting test combined with a typing and 10-key test. I tend to suck at audio but it didn't go too badly today, my typing speed has slipped since I am now used to a laptop keypad so a regular one throws me off for a while, but the repeat was much better.

I scored highly, in the high 80's for the hard stuff and mid-90's for everything else which I'm quite proud of. Julie said I would likely hear within about 5-7 days, depending how long it takes them to get the rest of the candidates in.

Trip home was a nightmare, roadworks in a place called Bisely (or is it Bisley?) which had queues back for blinkin' miles but I had no hurry so I turned up my music and sang while I waited. Got stuck again coming back through Bracknell, but the M4 part was a cinch, got home just after 3:30pm (I left at just after 1pm) to find Dad and Alex champing at the bit to go to Coate Water and feed the ducks. I changed out of my suit and into comfy clothes and crocs, we went to Coate and fed the ducks, then walked around to the playground (Alex was being a Transformer) and spent some time getting dirty.

Alex found a puppy to play with and very nicely asked the lady if her puppy was "allowed to play with little boys." :0) With an answer in the affirmative they proceeded to completely knacker each other out, running around playing until puppy and boy were laid out on the grass panting. The lady was very pleased, she's not able to get him good and tired so she's hoping for a quiet evening. Us too. :)

After finishing the walk around Coate, we got back home in time for me to get dinner cooked, mum got home from work just before 6pm and we all sat down to dinner, Alex was starving, polished off all his dinner and a little bit of ice cream for afters then nearly fell asleep at the table. Dad bathed him and put him to bed and I got the kitchen cleaned up and food out of the freezer for tomorrow.

Tomorrow I work 9am-5pm, so does mum, so dad is spending the day with Alex, they are going tree climbing in North Woods, then kite flying on Uffington hill followed by lunch and an afternoons crafts. Alex is making easter baskets for himself and Freddie, then when I get home I am going to get the sewing machine up to help him make Frog beanbags out of felt. I think they are also making an easter tree for Beth & Si (decorated egg shells hung with wool from twigs in a decorated pot) but that might have to be Wednesday.

Now though, I have finally managed to get back the arse to stitch, I lost it there for a couple of weeks while I was under threat of stroke or seizure, but 'destination procrastination' isn't helping the thing get finished. They'll be celebrating their first anniversary before it gets done at this rate.
