Agreed, I meant it as in "dumped as a friend" rather than "dumped for a friend" but if I used all the words it would help :(
I have been dumped in a similar way before, I'm not sure if I should be pleased and proud to be seen as a threat, or frustrated that my friends end up with people who are so stupid as to think I'm anything more than a buddy. Either way, another friend has gone the way of the 'terminally attached' and no doubt I'll hear from him again when she leaves him for someone with more backbone.
