Deep Joy, I woke up this morning and could neither see, nor speak. The back of my throat felt like it'd been sewn shut, and attempting to put tea down it didn't help. I called work right away, croaked to Kathryn who said absolutely not to go in today, then I called the Doctor and got in to see Dr West first thing, Dad drove me there and came in with me because I couldn't see.

I have now had another shot in the bum for the pain and nausea, am on anti-biotics for the tonsillitis and have a course of 'Sumatriptan' for the on-going migraine issues. The sumatriptan stuff is good, I took my first 50mg tablet at the surgery at 9am, came home and it's now 10:15am, the eye oddity has cleared up, the headache is gone and (apart from the migraine hangover and sore throat) all I have left is a delightful "special" brownie feeling.

For now though, I am going back to bed to try and sleep my way through as much of this as possible.

Good news is that I am home alone today, mum and dad have gone to Beths for the day.

Alrighty then, Pot Noodle is real food, drugs are good and WTF?!-ness reigns. The new drugs are doing wonders for both my mental and physical health, my head is no longer doing the deep thrumming thump, I can see clearly out of both eyes, my throat is feeling soothed and my ribs are even feeling the effect of the new drugs.

I have eaten a pot noodle and kept it in my tummy (yummy curry flavoured) I have also had tea to drink and the gag reflex of swallowing has stopped. In the post today I received a Valentines card expressing buckets of love, regret, fear, pain and anger, and a teddy bear. The bear is sweet and on a shelf until I decide what to do with him (probably the thrift shop) and the card is burning merrily in my cauldron (thank you sooo much for talking me into buying the cauldron) I have written a letter accurately depicting my WTF-ness and emailed it, sent back the tax forms and washed my Buffs.

I have made enchilada mix ready for tomorrow, done 2 loads of washing and now have a cup of tea, a copy of Serenity and nothing to do for the next 4 hours.

The guy who does the cartoon (sorta) for DM of the Rings is ace. Tonight I read this gem entry:

"Nobody wants to play a campaign with Emporer Fred or High Chancellor Gary, and so the usual approach is to give everyone high fantasy names like King Geon’ai, Sir Lua’an-Eradin, or Lady Alaain Mera-Dovrel. You know, strange and fantasy-ish. Of course, this means the names will all be unpronouncable, difficult to spell, and easily confused. For fun, have your players describe the plot of your campaign after it’s over. I promise it will sound something like this:

The dragon guy with that black sword was opressing the people that lived on those hills. Then that one king with the really long beard got that one chick with the crazy hair, and she went to that one lake. Then she got corrupted by that curse thing that made her attack that group of guys we found dead. You know, the ones that had that +1 sword and the bag of holding? Once we broke her curse she told us about the dragon guy and gave us that thing. And the map. Then we found the dragon dude and kicked his ass.

It’s like living in a word without proper nouns. I’ve always wanted to make a campaign like this:

The Dark Lord Walter, wielder of the Black Sword of choppery, was opressing the peoples of Pittsburgh. Then King George Washington enlisted the help of the Warrior Princess Rapunzel. Sadly, in the Land of Yellowstone she fell under a spell and slew the Steelers, Knights of Pittsburgh. At last the heroes freed the princess, traveled through the kingdom of Barstow, and confronted Walter in the land of Spokane.

Sure, it sounds stupid, but you have to admit: your players will be able to remember, pronounce, and even spell all of the important people and places."
