Letter to my Teecha

We've been talking about my birthday and plans for the day, mum and dad want me to have the day off so we can go out and do something with Beth and the boys, a family type day we used to do loads of. I'm not particularly bothered because I'm not particularly looking forward to it, I have no problem with being at work for my birthday and I'm saving my holiday for something I am looking forward to much more.

Dad handed me a letter this morning to give to my boss :) I laughed so hard that I have to post the text here so I can come back and laugh again when I need it....

30th July 2007

To: Mr Lyn Evans, Nationwide Direct

Dear Mr Evans,

From the mere fact that you are reading this I deduce that negotiations for Amy to have a day off on her birthday are not going well.

It is time, then, for a fervent parental plea which not even the flintiest of hearts can completely deny. Please, please, please let Amy spend the day with her ailing and elderly parents (and others to be named at a later date but equally enamoured of our little girl) playing parlour games and eating jelly.

If you can find the goodness in your heart to grant this boon, I promise immediately to discontinue training her in the more instantly lethal forms of unarmed combat (unarmed in that she only needs a small pair of nail scissors and a blunt cocktail stick to wipe out an SAS regiment).

Yours grovellingly,

J. P Hall (Mr)

PS: Can you please excuse her from gym today too because the alligator has eaten her trainers?

The P.S. just keeps me giggling....
