necking

From the days of long ago I remember necking. It was an adventure played slowly by a boy and a girl. Often the boy was the more active and the girl just complient, but sometimes the girl took the initiative. It could be different each time it happened.

True necking begins at the neck as the [male] hand moves down to undo the top button of the blouse. If there is no discouragement the hand moves lower button by button. Then the hand ventures beneath the fabric of the blouse. It cups the sturdiness of the bra. Maybe there is a little kissing going on as well. If there is, this is an encouragement to go further. The hand slides into the bra. Eventually encounters the nipple.

When there is mutual desire and pleasure, the clasp at the back of the bra is unfastened. Maybe they shift around a bit so he can cup a breast in each hand.

Things may go further. His hand may move to her knee, creep up to her stocking tops and meet the fastenings of the suspender belt. What happens after that depends very much on whether or not a heavy arm then descends to prevent his hand moving on to the bare flesh of the thigh ..

Thinking about it now, I suppose it was an extended foreplay but always without the culminating sexual intercourse.

If my memory serves me well, the situation changed in the early 60s when the pill could be generally obtained [by the girl] on doctor's prescription.

There was a different ethos in the late 50s when the boy could be caught in a double bind. If, at the crucial moment, he produced a french letter for safety's sake, she might say "Oh, you thought me easy did you? Thought I was just a tart?". If he didnt produce the necessary at the right moment, she might complain "On, you dont love me enough to come prepared".

Such is life ..
